Hi, everyone!
Apologies in advance…I don't want you to feel spammed, so I'll just post this once—to this campaign. If you've backed multiple projects from me, this message will show in a few of them. Once.
Okay, disclaimers are out of the way and now we can rock and roll! Literally, in fact. Evie and the Helsings, the heavy metal vampire-slaying comic I make with artist Don Cardenas, colorist Jason Millet, and editor Chris Murrin, is closing in on the end of the Kickstarter campaign for its second issue.
Missed issue #1? No problem! You can catch up with this campaign, too!

When I pitched it to Don, I described it as Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets This is Spinal Tap by way of Ash vs. Evil Dead. It's a lot of fun.

The Kickstarter for Evie and the Helsings wraps up today at 1:50 pm central time! This thing keeps chugging along, adding pledges and unlocking Stretch Goals!

Hey, everyone!
I'm popping into your updates with a quick reminder about Evie and the Helsings, the new comic I launched on Kickstarter with Don Cardenas, Jason Millet, and Chris Murrin.
It's about Evie Van Helsing, the last in the line of the Van Helsing family on monster hunters. Instead of picking up the mantle of the family business, Evie just wants to rock.
We've already met our funding goal and have unlocked eight—EIGHT—Stretch Goals, with a wide variety of digital downloads, stickers, postcards, and mini-prints.
The campaign closes this Thursday, February 9, at 1:50 central stand time. I hope you give it a look!

Hi, everyone!
I’d planned to send this out sooner, so I apologize for the delay.
First of all, thank you for your support of The Catch!
I just launched a new project on Kickstarter called Evie and the Helsings. Here’s the high concept:
For centuries, the Van Helsing family has protected humanity from things that go bump in the night. The last protector has fallen, and the mantle goes to her one surviving heir. The problem is, Evie Van Helsing just wants to rock.
I wrote and lettered the book and I’m joined by artist/co-creator Don Cardenas, Jason Millet (colors) and Chris Murrin (edits).
The tone of the book is Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets This is Spinal Tap by way of Ash Versus Evil Dead. Like everything I write, I try to balance character development with action and humor.
And I gotta tell you, Don drew the heck out of this thing! It doesn’t hurt that Don’s a proficient—and enthusiastic—musician with a deep love for heavy metal and horror. His attention to detail on the gear is second-to-none. And, wow, can he stage an action sequence! Add in Jason’s next-level colors and the book really sings! (No pun intended.)
It’s the first issue in a 4-issue mini-series. 32 pages with cardstock covers. Don drew the main cover, I drew a variant, and Don and I collaborated on a retro homage variant.

Hi, everyone!
As of this morning, everything that can be sent out has been sent out. Thanks to BacketKit, this has been among the smoothest fulfillment periods I've had on a project (smooth; not necessarily as timely as I would have liked).
The remaining rewards awaiting shipment all contain a Ghoul Scouts book. The books are paid for and are in the hands of a retailer friend. Unfortunately, she's been swamped of late (she also write comics for Sourcepoint Press and has been busy with conventions), and has been unable to get me a cost-estimate to ship the box of books to me.
I've been emailing her regularly, asking for a price, and she assures me that she'll get me the price as soon as possible. As soon as she gives me the price, I'll Paypal her. Hopefully, she'll be able to send the books to me at that time. Honestly, if gas prices weren't so high, I'd drive the 200 miles to her shop and just pick up the box.
Having struggled through supply chain issues, international shipping, and other pandemic-related delays, I can't stress how much I appreciate your patience. I'll let you know as soon as i hear back from her.
