Still Waiting

Hello, everyone!
I hope your holiday season has been happy so far, as we close in on the end of 2021.
As I mentioned in my last update, I’m told that the books will arrive in December or January. Since December is almost over, it’s looking like they’ll be here in January. I’ll let you when I have confirmation from my print broker.
Kickstarters, like everything else during the global pandemic, have been hit with supply and delivery delays. I appreciate your patience as we continue to contend with this.
Thanks!

Hi, everyone!
I've resisted doing an update about nothing, but here goes…
The books are printed, but as I'm sure you've heard from the news, your local stores, or even other Kickstarters, the entire world is facing supply chain issues. And our Kickstarter is no exception.
The books are printed. And I've been told to expect them sometime in December or January.
I realize that's a really broad estimate, and I apologize. I've been holding off on posting an update in hopes that I'll receive a firm date, but it looks like the supply chain chaos will prevent that.
Which brings us to this: an update about nothing. ;)
That's not entirely true. I've been working on lots of behind-the-scenes stuff to improve the packaging and shipping process (using BackerKit, learning the intricacies of BackerKit, accepting BackerKit as my new crowdfunding way of life…). BackerKit looks to really improve all of these—something that, as I finish up shipping the Athena Voltaire and the Terror on the Orient Express campaign, I really appreciate!
I'll be sending out the digital rewards soon. My target is next week, but we'll see if my day job impacts this—holiday season always means "extra overtime to make up for upcoming time off." <sigh>
Thank you so much for your support and patience. I can't wait until you see this book!

Books are at printer; surveys are coming

Hi, all!
Books are at the printer.
I had a multi-day delay waiting to hear back from my BackerKit rep regarding a bunch of questions I had. As this is my first time using BackerKit, it's been stressful because I want to get it right. I've gotten some answers and am working on it.
Surveys coming soon.
Thanks!

The funds are in, the book is heading to printer, surveys are coming!

Hi, everyone!
The subject line says it all! We're ready to go. I have a couple more details I need from my print broker (file prep stuff), but otherwise we're good to go!
Something new this time around...I'll be using BackerKit to manage surveys and fulfillment. There was a time that I was able to carefully work my way through the backer list and thoroughly address every detail. However, as I've learned on the campaign for Athena Voltaire and the Terror on the Orient Express, those days are over. I want to make sure that every add-on is correct, and I want to make sure it's all done as quickly as possible. So, yeah, there's a whole "recognizing your own limitations" lesson in there for me.
I've started working my way through the BackerKit interface, and it'll take a little time to make sure I have everything situated, but surveys will go out soon, and digital rewards will follow shortly after (because the book is done).
Thanks again for supporting the book—I can't wait to share it with you!

Thanks so much for backing The Catch! Because of you, not only will we have this collection in print, it’ll look beautiful!
Although we were below $14,000 at the close of the campaign, we actually were above it for a while—until we took a big hit with a large cancellation in the last 25 minutes. With that in mind, as far as I’m concerned, Stretch Goal #4 is unlocked. No locking it back up! Postcards all around!
I actually have errands to run, but I’ll be back later today or tomorrow with a round-up of what comes next.
Until then, here are a couple more Kickstarters that I think you may like (because I like ‘em!):
Happy Hill from Joe Mulvey, Rich Douek, Tyler James and company looks like the kind of pop culture horror story I’ve been grooving on for the last six months—and I can’t wait to get my hands on this! The ComixTribe gang puts out excellent books, and this one looks like another winner! Check it out!
Manticore by Eric Palicki and Christopher Peterson looks like an exciting urban fantasy (possibly horror-tinged) adventure. It's an oversized European-style hardcover that I'm already coveting! Eric's done some excellent books in the past, and his Ahoy Comics book Black's Myth is already off to a great start, too! Check out Manticore!
That's it for now. I'll write more later today/tomorrow.
Thank you again. I'm giddy with excitement about this book!
